Another well known manufacturer, Epson, has launched its netbook called the Endeavour Na01 which is on sale only in Japan for the time being.
Epson, which is known mostly for its printers, uses the usual combination of a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 processor, 1GB memory, a 10.2-inch LCD screen, a 160GB HDD and Windows XP in this altogether unimpressive package.
There's a nice set of interfaces as well which you might have expected from others - USB, WiFi, Ethernet, VGA and multi card reader, all for around £333.
Expect other's like Canon, Lexmark or Cicso to join the foray fairly soon.
In related news, Packard bell has finally released its Dot Netbook but it won't go on sale until next January at PC World at £299 with Windows XP rather than Linux.
Packard Bell is owned by Acer and it doesn't therefore come as a surprise that the Dot netbook bears some resemblance with the Acer's own netbook, the Aspire One.
Unsurprisingly, you will find the same specs as in most Netbooks - 1.6GHz Atom, 8.9-inch screen, 1GB memory and a 160GB HDD.
In a nutshell, yet another clone that won't set the world on fire.
